If you don&#8217;t know about it, Siggraph is the biggest yearly Animation Festival, which happened this year in Vancouver.<br \/>\nWe were four people to hold the booth:<br \/>\n-Boudewijn Rempt (the maintainer of the Krita project)<br \/>\n-Vera Lukman (the original author of our popup-palette)<br \/>\n-Oscar Baechler (a cool Krita and Blender user)<br \/>\n-and me \ud83d\ude09 (spreading the word about Krita training; more about this in a next post&#8230;)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/timotheegiet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Krita_Team_Siggraph.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/timotheegiet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Krita_Team_Siggraph.jpg\" alt=\"Krita team at Siggraph\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-733\" srcset=\"https:\/\/timotheegiet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Krita_Team_Siggraph.jpg 640w, https:\/\/timotheegiet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Krita_Team_Siggraph-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Together with Oscar and Vera, we&#8217;ve been doing live demos of Krita&#8217;s coolest and most impressive features.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/timotheegiet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Krita_booth.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/timotheegiet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Krita_booth.jpg\" alt=\"Krita booth\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-734\" srcset=\"https:\/\/timotheegiet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Krita_booth.jpg 640w, https:\/\/timotheegiet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Krita_booth-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We were right next to the Blender booth, which made a nice free-open-source solution area. It was a good occasion for me to meet more people from the blender team.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/timotheegiet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Krita_Blender_booth.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/timotheegiet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Krita_Blender_booth.jpg\" alt=\"Krita and Blender booth\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-735\" srcset=\"https:\/\/timotheegiet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Krita_Blender_booth.jpg 640w, https:\/\/timotheegiet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Krita_Blender_booth-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>People were all really impressed, from those who discovered Krita for the first time to those who already knew about it or even already used it.<br \/>\nAs we already started working hard on integrating Krita for VFX workflow, with support for high-bit-depth painting on OpenEXR files, supporting OpenColorIO color management, and even animation support, it was a good occasion to showcase these features and get appropriate feedback.<br \/>\nMany studios expressed their interest to integrate Krita into their production pipeline, replacing less ideal solutions they are using currently&#8230;<br \/>\nAnd of course we met lots of digital painters like illustrators, concept artists, storyboarders or texture artists who want to use Krita now.<br \/>\nReaching such kinds of users was really our goal, and I think it was a success. <\/p>\n<p>There was also a bird of feather event with all Open-source projects related to VFX that were present there, which was full of great encounters.<br \/>\nI even could meet the guy who is looking at fixing the OCIO bug that I reported a few days before, that was awesome!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/timotheegiet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/OpenSource-BOF.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/timotheegiet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/OpenSource-BOF.gif\" alt=\"OpenSource Bird Of Feather\" width=\"337\" height=\"225\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-736\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>So hopefuly we&#8217;ll see some great users coming to Krita in the next weeks\/months.
